Basic Kayak Class
The goal of this 4-hour class is to familiarize participants with basic paddling and rescue technique through theory, demonstration, and practical application and to convey safe kayaking information to participants.

The majority of the class (approx. 2 hrs.) will focus on rescue techniques including self-rescues and assisted rescues which will require the participant to capsize thier kayak and wet exit (get out of a kayak while it is upside down in the water) a number of times.

Class will cover kayaking terminology, kayaking equipment, paddling technique, guidelines for a safe kayak trip, and factors to consider when planning a kayak trip.
