Family St. Croix River Trip  Family canoe trips on the St. Croix river are an exciting, memorable way for outdoor adventure oriented families to spend time together. The St. Croix river is an excellent choice for family trips because the it features moderate whitewater which can be run by novices yet remains an exciting focus for all participants. Furthermore, the St. Croix can be run during favorable summer months and the relaxed pace of the trip provides ample opportunity to enjoy a number of activities including fishing, hiking, swimming, photography, relaxing, and, of course, evening campfires.
Your guide will focus on ensuring there will be plenty of time to enjoy the activites your family is most interested in and will provide learning opportunities on a number of outdoor topics including wilderness canoeing. Custom family adventures may be arranged on the St. Croix river for any size party or length of trip. |
Machias Bay 1/2 Day Family Kayak Trip If you plan to vacation with your family in eastern Maine, we urge you to participate in one of our family kayak trips on Machias Bay. Wildlife such as seals and bald eagles are common sighting on these 4-hour family kayak tours highlighted by a stop to view native American petroglyphs. Machias Bay is the largest petroglyph site in eastern North America and the opportunity to view these 1500 year-old artifacts which were carved into rock ledges by hand is very special. During the stop, your guide will provide interpretation on the petroglyphs and there will be time to enjoy a snack or lunch (not provided) and relax with your family before kayaking home. We use comfortable, stable two-person kayaks that are surprisingly easy to steer for our family tours. No prior kayaking experience is necessary. Family canoe and kayak trips are scheduled throughout the season. |
